Jackson PollockGetty Chosen To Rehabilitate and Display World Famous Jackson Pollock Art Mural
The University of Iowa has selected the Getty Museum in Brentwood to rehabilitate a famous Jackson Pollack mural which will take an estimated eighteen months to complete. After the preservation is completed, the mural will be exhibited at the Getty for another three months. Getty head, James Cuneo, said that there were no politics involved in the decision to take on the mural work which he looks at as an “incredibly important work of art†.

Plans to Handle and Minimize Football Stadium Traffic Demanded
Brentwood City Councilman Bill Rosendahl has again sought proof that the Anschutz Entertainment Group can make good on their football stadium traffic plans. Rosendahl is one of the members of a special stadium review committee. He claims that the AEG Marilyn MonroeEnvironmental plan is too vague and fails to explain how traffic will be mitigated on game days.

26 Foot Statue of Marilyn Monroe Bows on Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs
On your next trip to Palm Springs you won’t be able to avoid a 26 foot statue of Brentwood’s Marilyn Monroe which has been erected on Palm Canyon Drive. It depicts a scene from her film “Seven Year Itch†in which her skirt is blown up showing off her legs up to her waist.

Disney Chairman Robert Iger Brings Alan Horn Out of Retirement to Head Up the Disney Studio
Brentwood’s Robert Iger, the Disney Chairman, admits that he made a big mistake in appointing the man who preceded his current choice to head the Walt Disney Studios. His new Disney Studio Chief will be Alan Horn, a very credible veteran whom he brought out of retirement. Horn is theElla Fitzgerald and Marilyn Monroe former Chairman of Warner Brothers Entertainment and was co-founder of Castle Rock Entertainment.

Ella Fitzgerald’s Singing Career Jump Started As Marilyn Monroe Pitched Her to Mocambo
Brentwood’s Marilyn Monroe persuaded the owners of the all-white Mocambo night club on the Sunset Strip to book black singer, Ella Fitzgerald, to sing at their club. Her Mocambo appearance in the forties jump-started her career. Frank Sinatra left the Tommy Dorsey band and made a career-building solo appearance at Mocambo in 1943. The West Hollywood night club attracted Clark Gable, Carole Lombard, Bob Hope, Ava Gardner, Grace Kelly, Tyrone Power, Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Howard Hughes and many other celebrities on a regular basis.
