Some Brentwood Neighbors Snickering Over Proposed Schwarzenegger -USC Think Tank
Many Californians believe the seven years Brentwood’s Arnold Schwarzenegger served as Governor of California were largely negative with most of the body builder’s ideas rebuffed by the legislature and the public. There were serious questions when the University announced a multi-million dollar plan to open the USC Schwarzenegger Institute for State and Global Policy funded by a $20 million commitment from the former Governor. Reading between the lines, it would appear that the former body builder-actor was using USC to buy his way back to respectability. He told the Times “I’ve always been interested in making sure other people can benefit from my experiences. It would be a shame to think that what I learned from my governorship over seven years will now be left behind and no one will benefit. USC called it a “partnership to establish a think tank that will seek bipartisan solutions to the environmental problems, economic policy, political reform, and other public policy issues†. Or will it be a way for Schwarzenegger’s flirtations to be forgotten.
Brentwood’s Late Andrew Breitbart Has Believers To Keep His Conservative Internet Site Alive
The right wing conservative internet site of aggressive blogger, Andrew Breitbart, appeared to be doomed when the founder died last month. Contrary to that fear, the Breitbart sites are gathering 1.1 million unique visitors a month and some of the founder’s old college friends have taken up the cause. Larry Solov, Steve Bannon and Joel Pollaski (the Editor in Chief) have the support of Breitbart’s wife and they have aggressively revived the sites. Working in funky offices in West Los Angeles, his new team has taken up Breitbart’s cause with renewed enthusiasm.
