A bomb threat at the Federal Building over the weekend remains under investigation.
According to officials, the incident occurred Saturday night when security guards called for backup after the suspect drove a van through the gates of the parking lot. The suspect, described only as a male, then ran into the lobby where he was detained by police.
After the man was apprehended, he told police that there was a bomb inside the van. FBI bomb technicians along with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s K9 team cleared the scene after determining there was no bomb threat.
The suspect was hospitalized for an evaluation and no arrests have been made.
The incident remains under investigation.
