Formula One heiress Petra Ecclestone and husband Sam Palmer recently unloaded their Brentwood home and have already purchased another property in the same neighborhood as reported by The Wall Street Journal. Their new property is located on the famous Rockingham Road and they paid a hefty $30.5 million for it. The brick home is brand new with 13,000 square feet of living space, seven bedrooms, a wine cellar with about 200 bottles of wine, a movie theater and a music room.
The estate was an off-market purchase from the Kelly-White Living Trust. This trust is based in Santa Monica and supervised by one Bryan F. Kelly and Emily C. White, neither of whom wished to comment on the sale. The property was originally purchased by the trust in 2020 for $15.6 million.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Sam Palmer said that he and his wife have been searching for new property in the city for a while. Palmer has obtained a real estate license and is working as a listing agent at Hilton & Hyland. Ecclestone has developed an interest in interior design. Palmer said, as quoted by The Wall Street Journal, “We’ve been looking for something that’s a bit of a project.” Ecclestone and Palmer have a reputation for doing renovations on properties and flipping them for profit.
Their last Brentwood property was purchased for $22.7 million in 2019 and they sold it to Russell Westbrook of the Los Angeles Lakers for over $10 million more than they paid for the estate. Westbrook paid another $2.5 million for the furniture in the house as well. Ecclestone sold Aaron Spelling’s old estate, The Manor, for $120 million in 2019 after picking it up for only $85 million in 2011.
Their plan is to put the finishing touches on the property even though it is a new property and finish the design of the garden that has not been completed. Petra Ecclestone will be in charge of the interior design and Palmer will work with the landscaping outdoors. Palmer’s ideas for the garden include a barbeque and vegetable garden but with some open space for playing games like soccer.
