Fun-filled Library Events for All Ages – From Babbling’ Babies to Intro To Watercolor

Summer Reading Challenge Is Almost Over, Grand Prize Drawings Almost Here

By Dolores Quintana

Join the Brentwood Branch Library this week for an exciting lineup of events. It is hard to believe, but it is true. The last week of the library’s Summer Reading Challenge is coming up. If you signed up but haven’t completed it, make sure you finish the challenge on Beanstack or in person before August 5th in order to be entered into the grand prize drawings.

On Saturday, August 5th, at 11 am, we are delighted to host Babbling’ Babies, an interactive language enrichment class facilitated by Speech Language Pathologist Alexandra Princiotta Lowe. Designed for babies aged 6-18 months and children experiencing speech delays, this event promises to be a fun-filled learning experience. \

From 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Intro to Watercolor will take place, and adults and seniors can discover the joy of watercolor painting with instructor Melissa Elliott. During this 90-minute session, the instructor will cover the fundamentals of this versatile and colorful art, including a discussion of supplies, materials, attributes, and techniques. Live demonstrations will be followed by hands-on practice by participants. Advance registration is required; please sign up with the reference librarian or call (310) 575-8273.

Please note that there will be no Storytime this week. However, we look forward to resuming our eight-week storytime cycle on August 9th at 10:30 a.m.

Our weekly events include engaging activities like STAR Readers and Brick Building Playtime.

Join us for STAR Reader Bonnie’s captivating storytelling session on Wednesday, August 2nd, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Children can explore their creativity during Brick Building Playtime on Thursday, August 3rd, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Friday, August 4th, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., experience another enthralling STAR Reader session, this time with Camille.
