Tom Safran recently hosted a backyard meet-and-greet for Gavin Newsom, candidate for the Governor of the State of California.
Newsom said political change was inevitable, but political progress was not.
It’s a time, he said, for political leaders to stand up and take action, and not just do the safe thing.
“The danger isn’t reaching too high and not getting there, the danger is reaching too low and succeeding.”
Newsom, who had a business background prior to entering politics, said innovation must play a key role in making government work better, and that innovation requires education, noting that government policies can accelerate innovation.
