James Corden Sells Los Angeles Home at Discounted Price of $17.1 Million

Host’s Property in Brentwood Park Finds Buyer After Price Cut

By Dolores Quintana

After months on the market, James Corden has sold his Los Angeles home for $17.1 million, significantly lower than the initial asking price of $22 million, as reported by The Dirt.com.

Corden acquired the house in 2017 for $10 million from “Modern Family” creator Steven Levitan. However, it remains uncertain whether he will make a substantial profit from the sale, as he invested millions in an extensive renovation shortly after purchasing the property. Additionally, the transaction is subject to L.A.’s new mansion tax, meaning Corden will need to pay nearly $1 million in extra taxes, standard closing costs, and realtor commissions.

Situated in the exclusive Brentwood Park neighborhood, the former Corden estate is secluded behind gates and a lush, overgrown hedge. Described as a “New England transitional” style home, the property features seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and over 8,000 square feet of beautifully decorated living space, designed by Corden’s wife, Julia Corden, an interior designer. Notable features include a living room with a fireplace, a marble-countertop eat-in kitchen, a 20-seat movie theater, a library, and a family room with French doors opening to the picturesque gardens. Upstairs, the master bedroom offers a private balcony, a lounge area, and two bathrooms, one of which showcases hardwood floors and unique shower and toilet stations with a greenhouse-like design.

The half-acre property embraces the signature East Coast-style landscaping of Brentwood Park, boasting tree-shaded lawns, brick patios ideal for outdoor dining, an in-ground trampoline, and a backyard swimming pool. Other amenities include an attached three-car garage and a Crestron home automation system that allows remote operation and monitoring of the property’s lights, sound system, and security cameras.
