Injured Mountain Biker Rescued by Helicopter in Brentwood
A mountain biker was rescued by a Los Angeles Fire Department helicopter after sustaining an injury on a remote trail in Brentwood on Monday evening. The incident occurred halfway up Sullivan Fire Road, west of the Westridge-Canyonback Wilderness Park and northwest of Mandeville Canyon.
Los Angeles Fire Department Public Information Officer Nicholas Prange detailed the late-breaking rescue in an LAFD alert. No further information is available about the biker’s age or condition.
At 8:05 p.m., LAFD units responded to the scene, where an adult male was found injured. A rescue helicopter was deployed, and a flight paramedic was lowered to medically assess and stabilize the patient. The injured biker was hoisted into the hovering helicopter and provided with in-flight care during direct transport to a local hospital.
The rescue operation involved multiple LAFD units, including Fire Station 19, Battalion 9, and resources from the West Bureau. The incident took place in Council District 11.
