Purple Line extension construction to result in lane closures this week
By Chad Winthrop
LA Metro construction next week will result in lane reductions for a congestion-prone stretch of Wilshire Boulevard in Brentwood this week.
According to the Brentwood Community Council (BCC), drivers can expect eastbound lane reduction on Wilshire Boulevard between San Vicente Boulevard and the ramp entering the VA campus this week. Work will be done from March 30 through April 7. The BCC says the ramp closures entering and exiting the VA will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
In addition to eastbound lane reductions on Wilshire between San Vicente and Bonsall Avenue, the BCC says the expect the following: Lane restrictions on the Bonsall ramps south of Wilshire; temporary traffic restrictions while construction personnel and equipment enter and exit the work area; and detoured VA Hospital access along Sepulveda and Santa Monica boulevards to Sawtelle Boulevard and Dowlen Drive.
The lane reductions are a result of LA Metro contractors working in coordination with SoCal Edison on the Metro Purple Line Extension.
