Community Invited to Learn Warning Signs and Survival Options at Event
The Brentwood Community Council has announced that they will be hosting a very special presentation from our LAPD: Active Shooter Prevention: Warning Signs of Pre-Attack Behavior, presented by LAPD’s Sargeant Legaspi. This special meeting for the community will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Brentwood Presbyterian Church, 12000 San Vicente Boulevard.
In a press release, the LAPD describes the presentation through a statement that reads: “Our mission is to empower individuals and communities to prevent and respond to mass attacks. With a team of experienced professionals from the Los Angeles Police Department, we deliver a FREE high-quality training program that is tailored to meet the unique needs of each audience.
The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including:
Warning signs of a potential mass attacker;
Active shooter prevention:
“Run, Hide, Fight” survival options.
Case studies of missed opportunities for prevention and lessons learned.
It is designed for community members, including Clergy, private sector companies, large entertainment venues, Law Enforcement members, hospital staff, educators, and others.”
Parking is available in the back lot and there is also street parking nearby. The announcement asks that the community “join us for what promises to be a very informative discussion.”
