Kristine Wellenstein uses Mega Millions lottery winnings to purchase a luxurious $6M home in Bel Air
A lucky lottery ticket has led to a major upgrade for Kristine Wellenstein. Last year, Wellenstein purchased a Mega Millions lottery ticket at a Chevron gas station in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, which ended up being worth an astounding $426 million, making her one of the wealthiest lottery winners in history.
The longtime San Fernando Valley resident has since used her winnings to purchase a new home in Bel Air, for which she paid nearly $6 million. The 4,000-square-foot house was recently renovated by Casa Design, boasting premium materials such as marble and limestone, Kelly Wearstler lighting fixtures, and state-of-the-art security and smart home systems.
Wellenstein managed to snag a bit of a discount on the home, which was originally listed for $6.2 million. The property includes five bedrooms, a metal roof, custom cabinetry, and a kitchen with Thermador appliances and a striking black-and-white marble imported from Italy.
The second-floor master suite features a marble shower with a rainfall showerhead, dual sinks, a walk-in closet, and sweeping views of the surrounding hills. The 0.38-acre lot includes 1,500 square feet of patio decking, a swimmer’s pool with an AstroTurf lawn, and a two-car garage pre-wired for an electric car charging system.
Wellenstein’s new home faces westward, offering unobstructed views of the stunning Bel Air hills and sunsets.
