A luxury hotel is planned for Benedict Canyon.
Bulgari Hotels and Resorts has plans to open their second hotel in the United States in Benedict Canyon according to Urbanize Los Angeles.
The property’s owner Gary Safady is working with Bulgari, which is itself a collaboration between Bulgari and Marriott Hotels, to develop his property at 9704-9712 W. Oak Pass Road.
The development has Studio SAOTA, a South African firm, and Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, a firm from Milan, as architects. It would be a boutique hotel named Bulgari Resort Los Angeles and include, according to Urbanize Los Angeles, “…58 guest rooms and suites, in addition to eight private residences. Plans also call for a 10,000-square-foot spa, a gym, a private theater, an eight-seat sushi bar, and Bulgari’s signature restaurant Il Ristorante – Niko Romito.”
The developers plan on opening in 2025.
This development is strongly opposed by neighborhood residents and Los Angeles City Councilmember Paul Koretz who has filed a motion against development of the hotel and insists on further study of the environmental report.
