San Vicente Boulevard in Brentwood was closed down on the morning of Nov. 8 while the Los Angeles Police Department investigated a suspicious package after a man threatened to blow up the Coffee Bean coffee shop on San Vicente Boulevard and Barrington Avenue near the Brentwood Park area.
Police evacuated the coffee shop after a man walked in and claimed to have an explosive device in a backpack. The suspicious package was first reported at 7:40 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
However, the threat was determined to be a hoax. LAPD Officer Irma Mota said, “miscellaneous items only” were found after the bomb squad wrapped up around 10:30 a.m. on the 11600 block of San Vicente Boulevard.
The man was taken into custody for questioning.
