Residents Urged To Evacuate Immediately as Fire Spreads; Sunset Boulevard Closed
Breaking News: The Palisades Fire’s mandatory evacuation order has been extended to Mandeville Canyon, with the order going up to Kenter Road on the east, Mulholland Highway to the north, and south to the Riveria Country Club, per the LAFD. Sunset Boulevard was shut down at Amalfi Drive by the LAPD with officers using a bullhorn to order residents to leave immediately as reported by ABC 7 Eyewitness News. The fire has already moved through Rustic Canyon.
The LAPD is advising residents to head east to the 405. Now.
The Brentwood Community Council has sent an email statement that says, “We send our heartfelt prayers and wishes for safety for all those impacted by the growing Palisades Fire. We have just been informed that the evacuation order is now being extended to residents in the Mandeville Canyon area. Please be safe, follow any directions from first responders, and evacuate.”
The fire has 0% containment and the worst part of the windstorm is due to arrive around 10:00 p.m. The LAFD has sent out a public call that All LAFD members currently off-duty are to call the DOC at 213-576-8962 with their availability for recall.
