West LA Officer Cunningham Lost His Life in an Off-Duty Traffic Accident

Police Officer II Darrell Cunningham, Serial No. 43884, of the West Los Angeles Area, tragically lost his life in a traffic collision while off-duty. The incident occurred at the intersection of Roscoe Boulevard and Lindley Avenue around 1:15 a.m. on November 4. In response to inquiries on how to support Officer Cunningham’s family, Sergeant Scott Alpert from WLAPD has issued the following message:
“The loss of Officer Darrell Cunningham is deeply felt within our Division, the Department, and among his family. Darrell embodied the qualities LAPD values in an officer—hardworking, consistently professional, and remarkably humble. He was not only a dedicated officer but also an outstanding father. Unfortunately, his kids and fiancé are now without him, as his life was tragically cut short. For those who wish to contribute, please consider the following:
