Millions of Dollars to Fly Over Brentwood Traffic?

House of the future for sale in Brentwood is equipped with personal a drone helicopter.

By Staff Writer

The future has arrived on the Westside! Or at least for those with $12 million to spend.

The Starview Estate for sale at 816 Glenmere Way in Brentwood, is being advertised as a “house of the future, highlighted by a two-person, fully operational drone mini-helicopter (plus landing pad) that the owner can commute to work with. A large or small price tag to pay to fly over rush-hour traffic on the Westside?

SureFly, the two-passenger personal drone helicopter, made by American truck-maker Workhorse Group, can zip passengers from Brentwood to Burbank in 10 minutes during peak rush hour traffic. This hybrid aircraft is designed for short trips with a roughly a 70-mile range.

“After 78 years, the helicopter has been reinvented,” SureFly writes on their website. “With eight independent motors each driving a single carbon fiber propeller, a backup battery power system, and a ballistic parachute to safely land in the event of emergency, the SureFly provides unparalleled safety for a personal aircraft.”

In addition to the helicopter, this 8,000 square foot modern-style house with a listing price of $11.995 million is full of other futuristic innovations and features. This includes a power system that allows the owner to go off the grid, run by solar panels and two Tesla Powewall lithium-ion battery stationary energy storage units.

With six bedrooms and eight bathrooms and 8,000 square feet of luxury, this home nestled in the hills of Brentwood fits the definition of a mansion. 28-foot retractable glass walls give this house a truly open feel not to mention spectacular views spanning from the Getty Center to Los Angeles to the Pacific Ocean (barring smog).

The two master bedrooms each feature an indoor terrarium and the garage includes with an underground car lift. The lower level sports a large home-gym, a gallery space and far-infrared sauna. And among all this innovation, the traditionalist will find comfort in the living room fireplace.
