Brentwood Beat
You know how grandparents drive the rest of us crazy by showing us pictures of their grandchildren?
Well, I’ve just become one of those grandparents.
On Sept. 5, my daughter, Katie, gave birth to a baby boy. His name is Eppley. James Eppley.
Let me share some pictures!
Katie, who grew up in Brentwood, now lives in Chicago with her husband, Tim Eppley. They are both into wildlife.
Katie works for the Brookfield Zoo in Chicago and, in recent years, Tim has been specializing in lemurs. He spent 20 months in Madagascar not too long ago.
Their idea of heaven is working at a wildlife refuge in Africa. So James might grow up in some very exciting places along the way. We hope he visits Brentwood – and soon! We have plenty of wildlife here, including the dreaded carhonkus maximus.
As James grows up, I look forward to taking him to the Country Mart for chicken, Star Toys, Sweet Rose Creamery for ice cream, Maria’s for pizza and Ursula for his haircuts. James already has a lot more hair than gramps!
OK, now that I’ve got that out of my system, I promise not to show baby pictures every month.
But if you ever see me pushing around a stroller, by all means stop me and say, “So, this must be James, the cutest baby in the whole wide world.”
Then you can see for yourself!
