A Brentwood nanny recently thwarted three unsuccessful burglars. Learn more in the latest Brentwood crime report.
Burglary
May 3, 5 p.m. , 1100 Block of Amherst Ave, Suspect #1 door knocked the residence with no response and left location. Approximately 20 minutes later Suspect #1 knocked on the door a second time with no answer. Suspect #2 and Suspect #3 walked around the back of the residence and smashed the rear slider and entered the location. The nanny heard the alarm sound and walked downstairs and observed suspects inside the kitchen and fled out the back door. No property was taken.
Burglary From Motor Vehicle/Theft From Motor Vehicle
May 5, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. 11800 Block of Goshen Ave, Suspect(s) smashed the windows of three separate vehicles at one apartment carport. Property taken was headphones and a side view mirror.
May 7-8, 10 p.m.-1 p.m., 11900 Block of Mayfield Ave, Suspect(s) smashed rear passenger window and removed property. The vehicle was parked in a subterranean garage. Property taken was a backpack and clothing.
Grand Theft Auto
May 5-6, 7 p.m.-11 a.m., 200 Block of Chadbourne Ave, 2019 Mazda CX5 was taken from the street.
