Brentwood Community Council welcomes Sheng-Ching Hsu
An award-winning classical violinist will perform an outdoor Valentine’s Day concert in Brentwood.
The Brentwood Community Council (BCC) announced that its Cultural Affairs committee is welcoming award-winning classical violinist Sheng-Ching Hsu for a Valentine’s Day concer on Sunday. The performance will take place from 12 p.m.-12:45 p.m. outdoors at San Vicente Plaza (11740 San Vicente Boulevard).
“Born in Taiwan, Sheng-Ching Hsu was six years old when she made her first public appearance as a violinist and a pianist at the National Cheng-Kung University. She has performed in venues such as the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Carnegie Hall, Teatro Municipal de Santiago (Chile), Remonstrantse Kerk in Alkmaar (The Netherlands), Théâtre de l’Île-Saint-Louis (Paris), and National Recital Hall (Taiwan),” reads her website. “Sheng-Ching has won numerous competitions, including the Flushing Young Artist Competition, the Asia Pacific Cup Music Competition, the Tainan Music Association Competition, the Tainan Municipal Cultural Center Competition and the National Tainan Senior High School Concerto Competition. In 2001, Sheng-Ching was the youngest participant and winner of the Tainan National Music Competition; she won the composition category a year later.”
