Police Thursday used less than lethal force to subdue a man waving what later turned out to be a replica firearm on San Vicente Boulevard in Brentwood.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the incident was reported around 1:45 p.m. on San Vicente Boulevard near the West Los Angeles VA.
Today, the LAPD used less than lethal force to quickly and safely subdue an individual who was reported to have a firearm on San Vicente Boulevard in Brentwood. The firearm was recovered and determined to be a replica gun. The suspect was taken to the West LA VA for evaluation,” said LAPD Captain Jon Tom in an email statement.
Brentwood News has reached out to the LAPD seeking more information about this incident, including if the suspect has been released and if there is any information to indicate if he was a resident of the encampment on San Vicente Boulevard. The Department could not immediately be reached.
