Special Olympics Comes to Brentwood School

Special Olympics Southern California, Los Angeles Region, will conduct the 2009 Regional Spring Games on Sunday, April 19, on Brentwood School’s East Campus (100 S. Barrington Place, Los Angeles, 90049).
Over 500 athletes and coaches from throughout Los Angeles County will compete in a variety of athletic events.
Brentwood School has been a major sponsor of this competition for five years. Students, faculty, and parents will be on hand to assist and support the athletes, work in the Olympic Village, and serve food to the many articipants and guests.
The Opening Ceremony will begin at 9:00 a.m., with a brief speakers’ program. The athletic competition will run from 10:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. The event will come to an end with the Closing Ceremony at 4:00 p.m. Complimentary lunches and event T-shirts will be provided for competing athletes and their coaches.
A special feature at the Spring Games will include the Olympic Village, where the athletes can enjoy arts and crafts, and relax in between competition. Brentwood School volunteers will help make this area fun and special for the participants. Also, additional information will be available for those who wish to learn more about Special
Olympics and how they can become involved. The public is invited to come out to watch the athletes compete and help cheer them on!
