Wine enthusiasts in Brentwood now have a new destination to explore and indulge in exceptional wines. Tensley Wines Tasting Room has officially opened at 11677 San Vicente Blvd, Suite 116, offering a unique tasting experience showcasing their carefully crafted selections. Founded by winemaker Joey Tensley, the tasting room invites visitors to savor the flavors of their exquisite wines while enjoying the charming ambiance.

With a focus on quality and craftsmanship, Tensley Wines has garnered acclaim for its distinctive offerings. Guests can contact the tasting room at 424-248-4528 or via email at tensleybrentwood@gmail.com to make reservations or inquire about their offerings.

The tasting experience at Tensley Wines comes with a modest fee of $25.00, allowing guests to explore a selection of meticulously crafted wines. Among the featured wines is the 2022 Clairette Blanche, which marks Tensley Wines’ first venture with this grape variety in the United States. Sourced from two vineyards on Alisos Canyon Road, with 80% Nolan Ranch and 20% Martian Vineyard, this wine impresses with its tropical aromatics and lively freshness.

Fermented in neutral barrels and bottled with only 30% malolactic fermentation, it strikes a balance that makes it ideal for summer enjoyment with light dishes or pairing with more complex seafood or creamy pasta. The Clairette Blanche is priced at $34.00, with a discounted Cellar Club Price of $28.00. A limited quantity of 170 cases has been produced.

Another standout offering is the 2022 Rosé of Grenache, a vibrant wine composed of 85% Grenache and 15% Clairette Blanche. With explosive aromas of tangerine, peach, and strawberry, this rosé is all about freshness and texture. This wine can be enjoyed with cheese, seafood, and spicy dishes on its own. Priced at $28.00, with a Cellar Club Price of $23.80, this wine showcases the finesse and versatility of Tensley Wines. Only 84 cases have been produced, making it a limited and sought-after selection.

The portfolio of Tensley Wines also features the 2020 Santa Barbara County Syrah, a bold and complex red wine that has received high praise from esteemed wine critic Jeb Dunnuck, who awarded it 91-94 points. For each vintage, the vineyard percentages may vary, but the consistent style remains. The 2020 blend includes the addition of Laird Vineyard, which contributes to sandy cool site characteristics and adds freshness and savory notes. This powerful yet fresh Syrah exhibits bright acidity, saline notes, and a generous display of blue and black fruits. Priced at $35.00, with a Cellar Club Price of $29.75, this wine has a production of 2,100 cases, making it accessible to wine enthusiasts seeking a memorable experience.

For those seeking a wine with aging potential, Tensley Wines presents the 2021 Thompson Vineyard Syrah, which has received a stellar 93 points from Wine Advocate. Known for its powerful aromatics of wildflowers and savory herbs, this Syrah displays a refreshing character due to the cool vintage of 2021. The wine can be enjoyed in its youth or cellared for approximately 20 years, showcasing the longevity and complexity that Thompson Vineyard Syrah is renowned for. Priced at $48.00, with a Cellar Club Price of $40.80, this limited-production wine consists of 195 cases.
