Respected Brentwood businessman Tom Kalette lost his fight with cancer Oct. 22, the Brentwood Community Council (BCC) said in an email blast to members Wednesday.
The following information is courtesy of the BCC. Kalette served on the BCC for many years on behalf of the Brentwood Village Chamber of Commerce.
A community memorial will be held at University Synagogue at 11960 Sunset Blvd. this Thursday, Oct. 30 at 6:30 pm. Parking is available in the parking lot just south of Sunset on Saltair.
Kalette was revered in the Brentwood Village where he managed properties and the overall Village activity.
He had a wonderful sense of humor and selfless quality that made him a wonderful person to work with in his business and community activities. He will be sorely missed.
Born Thomas Michael Kalette on June 4, 1951 in Syracuse, NY, he went on to attend Syracuse University.
He served three years in Vietnam with the Marine attachment aboard the USS Enterprise.
He practiced real estate beginning in 1987, servicing the Los Angeles area.
Tom came to Brentwood Village in the late 90’s to help in the establishment of the Brentwood Village Chamber of Commerce, the Brentwood Village Business Improvement District.
He worked hand-in-hand with the City of Los Angeles in a revitalization of Brentwood Village, a project which began in 2000.
